Mooi, nieuw hotel!
Zeer nieuw hotel dat niet volledig klaar (op lopende werkzaamheden op Spa & zwembad) .
De kamer is zeer luxe afgewerkt, met een geweldig uitzicht op de rivier. Ontbijt is een goede spreiding, maar service personeel mist training. Locatie niet zo centraal, maar de conciërge
kan u helpen om te bellen taxi, die goedkoop en veel.

Royal Tulip Hotel in Suzhou
As part of our tour to Suzhou we stayed at the Royal Tulip Hotel and were lucky to have been given Room 1802 which faced the front of the hotel with a great view over the city of Suzhou and the river; and which was actually a two-bedroom suite which included a sitting area and kitchenette. It was the most elaborately laid out room that we've had on this trip or any of the many trips we've taken over the past several years.
The main bedroom had a large king-size bed with a white duvet and four pillows, two night stands with lamps, a TV, gentleman's valet, padded bench, luggage carrier, and a wardrobe closet.
The second bedroom was furnished with a full-size bed and a night stand.
The sitting area had a sofa and coffee table and two end tables and was adjacent to the kitchenette area.
The kitchenette was equipped with a table and two chairs, a refrigerator, sink, and a microwave oven and a coffee urn/kettle and fixings.

The single bathroom had a tub and shower combination with no curtain. Surprisingly, it had been installed (or the plumbing and piping were) backwards so that the shower sprayed out and all over the bathroom floor! The bathroom had a good selection of toiletries and amenities, but only one bar of soap. The room did have my standard criteria of required amenities, namely: face clothes, bar soap, and tissue; but did not have any spare rolls of TP.
Strangely, the bathroom had no towel rods, hooks, or anywhere else to hang a wet towel. The bedrooms had no counter or desktop space to lay out belongings and misc.
There was a phone and TV in each bedroom; but there were no mirrors anywhere in the rooms except in the bathroom.
Only a single key card was issued per room which made it awkward and difficult for a couple to navigate the security-card controlled elevators (unless they always traveled everywhere in the hotel together.
The breakfast buffet was OK or more exactly: so-so with most of the offerings being Asian in nature with few Western items; but the coffee was very good.

Room with cigarette smell and only 1 room card issued
First encountered room with power not working and took a while before hotel manager agreed to change room after struggling to fix the problem to no avail. Issued only 1 room key card, which made it extremely inconvenient to visit gym and pool while my family stayed in the room. Bathroom design is poor with no curtain at the bathtub and shower head located very high up, out of reach of children. The only good aspect is that the hotel is beautifully decorated and looks grand but service cannot match.

Beautiful
Nicest hotel I've stayed in so far in China. Stunning room ,very modern but is is away from the center. I was on a group tour so this wasn't a major problem. Would highly recommend staying here if you come to Suzhao.
