Not a real casino by any means
1. Not enough parking at peak times and the valet service is terrible.
2. In order to enter, you must submit to a facial recognition scan and a bag search, go thru metal detection, and possibly an ID scan. Not the way to make you feel welcomed. But they don't care about your comfort.
3. VLTs only (video games and slots). No dealers. Electronic black jack and baccarat. At least roulette uses a real ball. There is really minimal staff inside the casino (except security, which is everywhere).
4. No free beverages. You pay for everything. Money grab to charge for a soda.
5. Many machines broken. Either the volume is broken, the 'play' button is smashed, or the machine doesn't accept your players card. No reason for this, but maintenance here is shoddy.
6. Cashier cage had a tip jar. Really. Is that a joke? Cuz it isn't funny.
7. Zero security outside. I mean NONE. My car got keyed once. Good luck leaving safely if you with a jackpot, there isn't any security of note out there, just the valet kids running around.
8. This used to be a hotel. They converted two floors to become Jake's 58. That being said, there is NO FLOW to anything in there. The entire layout makes no sense. Some parts of the casino are freezing cold, others have little ventilation. It's a very uncomfortable environment in some areas of the building. To enter, you must cross paths to the people leaving. I cannot tell you how annoying this is when it gets crowded, it's like getting on and off a train - people bonking into each other. Inside, there are many areas where placement of the machines makes it 'tight'. At least they got new chairs (finally).
It gets 2 stars because it's better than nothing and it's the county's only casino. But i could be SO much better. If they ever get a competitor, they'll be out of business in no time. Suffolk OTB owns and operates this place and they'll make sure that they keep all the completion away.

Still don’t like the downgrade since OTB took over
Your hotel staff especially Suzanne is more than welcoming and checking in to make sure that our room is comfortable. We eat at the bistro but they’ve changed the menu on that a few times. I know they’re going through construction so parking is definitely an issue which is expected. My room was clean and comfortable. Like I said my review from 2023 was answered by Ashley and have never seen that quote. I’ll take care of you the next visit”
We are back in New York, so we don’t utilize the hotel as much as we used to, but do try to make it back once or twice a month until my husband retires. But then again like I said, never got that quote. I’ll take care of you on the next visit“ Thank you Suzanne and Hotel reception staff. We appreciate you. Ann McKendry
We have been coming to Jakes for years more in the last two years since we moved to Pennsylvania. We have gambled enough to bring ourselves up to two comps a week per person spending the same amount of cash each time. Now they have somehow changed the criteria. We are down to one room each. We visit family often and find that Jakes has always been the go to place for having fun and earning comp rooms at the same time. Are we going to lose the one night a week per person each now? I have spoken to many people who are in the same situation as us and now we will end up having to find and give our money to another hotel chain. Just so Jakes can renovate their hotel. We have never ever had a problem staying there along with the hotel staff are wonderful and have always been accommodating to my “feather free room” request. We walk in they know us by first names as do we know theirs. We may not spend tens of thousands of dollars but we are loyal customers of your establishment. Unfortunately that may have to change. Please reconsider your criteria as I am sure we are not the only one that will be affected by this and disappointed as well. “THE MCKENDRYS” as we are welcomed by your front desk staff. Ann Mckendry
