Always read the reviews and DO NOT STAY HERE

My son and I stayed here from the 28th Sept to 1sr Oct 2024.
I’ve been trying desperately to find a positive about this place but I genuinely can’t think of one. The location is the only thing that springs to mind if you just want a bed but even then it doesn’t feel safe after 21:00 hours. This mainly due to the local drug addicts/dealers hanging around outside.
Upon arrival the disappointment hit when the lift arrived and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years. The cage outside is filthy.
Reception is the 3rd floor not the 4th floor, the receptionist was nice enough. He showed us to our room (306).
The room was horrible, firstly the beds are possibly the most uncomfortable I’ve ever slept on. The rooms in generally are unclean and there was no cleaning done during our stay. The bathroom was tiny and again the shower cubicle filthy. The toilet flush was load enough to wake the building and so slow.
There was only one socket in the room which made charging devices difficult (thankfully I took a power bank).
There was a second socket behind the wall mounted TV but, as you can see in the pic, was completely unsafe and the plug would not come out.
The information card talks of a phone, tv, bar fridge, safe and air conditioning. It had good AC, it had a tv but no remote control, NO phone, safe or fridge!
So, on to breakfast. It’s non existent. Expect a couple of cereals, bread rolls and stale croissants. The juices had no flavour (missing the syrup). We ended up eating out every morning despite paying for breakfast.
I wish I’d read the reviews before I booked. It served a purpose as a bed but I would never return or recommend this establishment. This is one to avoid.

It gets better

Hotel two minutes from the station and definitely convenient! But the area is not miles despite being patrolled 24 hours a day by law enforcement... really bad hotel you break down the doors with a shoulder, breakfast we draw a pitiful veil .. the only positive note is that it seems quite clean and the staff always very kind and helpful ... without discriminating anyone if you expect Italians to run the hotel is not so

scary area

I have never left a review nor felt inclined before staying here, Female Travellers group of 4, ages 20 from Aus - have never felt more in danger in our lives and stayed in many budget accommodations across Europe and nowhere did we feel this level of unease. thought I was going to leave this hotel in a body bag. Staff where nice enough for what it was - however the area this hotel is in is dangerous. Staying here ruined my time in Rome, could not eat for the 3 days I stayed here and was fearful to leave the hotel, fearful to walk round the hotel and fearful to be in the room. Had to barricade ourselves in the room at night as could hear men mumbling outside the doors at all hours, constant car alarms outside meant no sleep as well as yelling fights on streets. There was a gang waiting outside the entrance at all times of the day. This hotel also operates as a men's hostel, we did not know this when we booked. Do yourself a Favour and please stay anywhere else if you are a female traveler, in perhaps somewhere not near this area, it was truly a skid row experience.

Solo travellers avoid

I’m travelling solo and as a 20 year old woman, I would not recommend this to any other solo female travellers. The one positive was the lovely, lovely member of staff at reception who was more than accommodating. There was a hole in my door that looked like it had been kicked and was covered up with tape. There was another hole in my bathroom door. The walls were paper thin and I could hear a phone vibrating for an hour in another room. On my way to the hotel I saw a man smoking crack, along with dozens of other drug users on the street. I was very excited to spend my first night in Rome but I ended up staying in the hotel all night. After 9pm I needed to go to the shop for water (30 steps away from the hotel) and got cat called by numerous men, even while inside the mini market. I panicked and ended up taking a walk around the block where I got catcalled more times by multiple different men. As this was happening, police pulled up outside the hotel. There were prostitutes walking around and I felt super unsafe. I slept with my key inside the door to prevent anyone trying to pick the lock through the night and I kept a chair infront of the door. So girls, avoid this place please. Spend that extra bit of money if it means being safe x
