Confused

I stayed one night on September 2017 in this hotel. Room is spacious and has modern look unlike the lobby and corridor, however the floor was so dirty and dusty . Overall it was nice to stay there. Im planning to bring my foreign friends to visit pontianak for capgomeh festival. To my surprise, according to my local friends, there is regular police patrol every night knocking your door at midnight. I did not encounter such thing back then. Does this hotel protect our privacy when there is an intrusion upon your reasonable expectation to be left alone? Or else i would bring my friends to stay at other hotel.

Old and not well maintain.

This hotel is quite old and not well maintain.
Their receptionist can't speak English but still pretend they understand and almost cause miscommunication between us. During check in I already told her I already made a booking and asking whether I can early check in or not, but due she not understand English she told me the room has been fully book and no empty room for that day. I've try to ask again and mention the same things and she give me massage brochure and ask me to check that brochure. End up after I talk in Bahasa only she understand and said I can check in early. Sweat!
My room is at level 3 and lift out of service.
Others, room is big but their curtains seems like has not been washed for quite sometime and their air conditioner leaking and not cold.

Spacious but Old

I stayed there with my Family on Dec 2016 as I am attending a banquet in the hotel as well.
Overall, the room is spacious. I prefer a mattress that is more firm, other than that everything else is standard. Air Conditioning is working very well, and I like the direct access to Swimming Pool from the room.
The bathroom really needed an upgrade, the bathtub is obviously not for bath, and it's using a fixed shower head, so it's quite difficult to use for a tall person standing inside the bathtub. You can see the bathroom has aged quite a lot, stains are everywhere, the marbles has chips/cracks, and I feel that the lights should be brighter.
Then comes the main lobby, restaurant and the hall, as it is a spacious hotel, I personally feel that with a better lighting, it can reduce the old/aging feeling inside the hotel.
Free Wifi is provided, but I cannot use it to browse, and I end up using my Mobile Data Plan.
The service is good, the Hotel Lobby even help us to book a Taxi for us to go around Pontianak.

an old standard hotel

i came to the hotel on february 2016. There were a meeting there for 100 people. The hotel was classic for the buildling, but it is still clean and good hotel.
The menu is very standard. The hotel situated on the strategic place. I stayed because I had ever stay about 10 years ago.

Quite terrible

Stayed here for one night just about 5 days ago. The room was quite the largest compared to the other hotels i stayed in throughout my trip. But the facilities were old and rubbish. There were stains, chewing gums and some other foreign materials that sticked on the carpet. The shower was broken, the bathtub can't stock water, the faucet at the basin didn't work, and the "free WiFi" connection cannot reach my room. People cannot speak English and there was once that I called the housekeeping for an adapter (for my phone's charger) and the staff hanged up the phone probably because he did not understand. There were some staff however who really tried their best to understand and accommodate me but overall, it wasn't a good experience at all.
